Automation is bound to redefine the next level of digital transformation. It will change customer perception of products and services asking for strict adherence to high-quality products and services, reliable solutions, customised product delivery and with a constant demand for the betterment of services.
Robotic Process Automation(RPA) is the buzzword that will be taking care of this growing demand and is expected to take control of all verticals across industries at a growth rate of 57% as per Gartner Predictions. Some of the trends around which RPA will revolve around this year will be as follows:
Trends to look forward in RPA
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are two different technologies which can be used independently of each other. However, they complement each other and combines to produce extremely powerful solutions.
RPA tools such as Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UI Path, Work Fusion and Open Span are used to replicate the human operations in order to run business processes. These tools emulate human actions with access to the underlying ERP, CRM, Office applications and automate mundane processes like sending notifications.
There will be Governance issues revolving around the centralization of automation of enterprises creating a lot of chaos. Enterprises will be looking to have automation centres of their own which will create a wave of change bringing about unpredictability and creating security issues. These trends will be cause for governance concerns throughout 2019.
With several RPA vendors on the increase, there would be more of free trials that would hit RPA licences. RPA industry will generate more revenue out of consultancy services, acquired through core consulting, process documentation and POCs.
There would be attended robots to work along with humans and augment workforce. Industries across the world will see increased use of robots. And it is predicted that the uses of robots will come to a 50:50 proportion for automated solutions this year on.
As industries increase their automation footprint, they add more and more employees to the RPA process. This will increase the employee engagement to new heights as more and more industries embrace RPA into their on-going business processes.
RPA will be used to process unstructured data sources like images and emails which is believed to become the next information goldmine. Organisations will be looking to capitalise on this opportunity. To structure the data RPA can be made use to deploy AI technologies to structure data from invoices or orders in general and allow automation of the process.
Chatbots will be one of the most commonly used RPA tool. This year and the coming years will witness voice and chat-enabled products become common in all industry sectors. Chatbots will focus on the management of corporate data with the objective of providing answers to customer queries.
And in tune with the above trends humans and machines will work together in many processes as automation will create new jobs for designers and RPA specialists who will improve user interfaces of RPA products like chatbots to enhance system efficiencies.
