Common Trends in the Development of Mobile Applications

There are a lot of people who use smartphones today and billions of applications are downloaded every year. A lot of social media platforms now rely on mobile applications. These are followed by Google Apps, Games, Banks, and eCommerce applications.

A lot of businesses are also following the strategy of making their brand known to potential customers through mobile applications. Here are some of the common trends that determine the future development of mobile applications.

1. Devices that are Wearable

Devices such as the Apple Watch are becoming the trend now. You can have the convenience of tracking your heartbeat or checking your messages through these devices. Some of the vendors follow with other accessories such as smart jewellery, healthcare monitors, and embedded sensors that can be fit one’s shoes and clothes.

2. Smart Mobile Connected Objects and Internet of Things (IoT)

As of the moment, there are a lot of connected devices available in the market. You can switch your TV through your devices. You can use your tablets or phones as remote controls, and you can use your television screen to tweet or post on your social media profiles.

Google even developed two projects named Brillo and Nest that specifically targets the IoT industry. The Nest project is very helpful for developing objects such as smoke sensors, cameras, alarms, and thermostat. On the other hand, Brillo is responsible for Low Energy Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other Android devices in the home. If you want to lower the temperature, dim the lights, or view your CCTV cameras, you only have to command Siri on your iPhone and you are good to go.

3. M-Commerce

There are a lot of waves when it comes to mobile purchases in recent years. Among them is the Apple Pay where customers can process transactions by using their smartphones. You don’t need to have credit cards or cash anymore when you shop. Everything is made easier by Google pay and other smartphone wallets.

4Location and Motion Sensing

There are a lot of applications today that are very useful in providing location information. If you lose your phone, you can easily track the location of the theft. You can use Google map or Waze to navigate your way at a new place. There are lots of location sensing apps such as geotagging, vehicle navigation, and theft locators that are useful for many smartphone users.

5. Improved Mobile User Interfaces

The effective display of data on a smartphone is what many users are looking for. There are a lot of designs that have novel features that can provide a great experience for the users. Along with this, augmented reality can make users interact with their smartphones in detail. This is a high standard that many smartphone companies aim to achieve when they develop their smartphone technology each year. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done and users are continually seeking new experiences. This is why technology is a never-ending innovation.
